DocAware Terms of Use
Last Updated: June 25, 2026
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of DocAware, a product of OvercomeRisk, operated by KurtzLieb Technology LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using DocAware, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use DocAware.
1. What DocAware Does
DocAware helps users understand important documents in plain English.
Users may upload contracts, leases, agreements, policies, terms, or other documents. DocAware may generate:
- Plain-English summaries
- Possible risk flags
- Key obligations
- Questionable language
- Recommended actions
- Other document review outputs
DocAware is intended to help users better understand documents before signing, accepting, renewing, cancelling, negotiating, or relying on them.
2. Not Legal Advice
DocAware is not a law firm.
DocAware does not provide legal advice.
DocAware does not create an attorney-client relationship.
DocAware does not replace a lawyer, attorney, accountant, financial advisor, insurance advisor, compliance professional, tax advisor, or other qualified professional.
The outputs generated by DocAware are for informational purposes only.
You are responsible for your own decisions, including whether to sign, reject, negotiate, accept, cancel, renew, or rely on any document.
For legal, financial, regulatory, tax, compliance, business, or professional advice, consult a qualified professional.
3. AI and Accuracy Limitations
DocAware may use artificial intelligence or language model technology to process document text and generate review outputs.
AI-generated outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, misleading, or may fail to identify important issues.
DocAware does not guarantee that it will:
- Identify every risk
- Find every obligation
- Detect every questionable clause
- Correctly interpret every provision
- Provide legally accurate conclusions
- Reflect current law or regulations
- Replace professional review
You should independently review all outputs and verify important information before making decisions.
4. Document Limits
DocAware supports PDF, DOCX, and TXT files up to 10 MB.
Very long documents may be reviewed in part. DocAware currently limits extracted text sent for analysis to 180,000 characters. If your document exceeds the current review limit, DocAware may analyze only the first portion of the document and display a notice.
For a more complete review of a long document, you may need to split the document into smaller sections and upload each part separately.
DocAware may not be able to analyze scanned, image-based, encrypted, corrupted, unsupported, or unreadable documents.
5. Uploaded Documents
You retain ownership of the documents you upload.
By using DocAware, you give DocAware permission to process document text as needed to provide the service, generate review outputs, maintain functionality, troubleshoot issues, prevent abuse, and operate DocAware.
Original files are parsed in the user's browser. The raw document file is not uploaded to DocAware backend storage.
Extracted plain text is sent for the AI analysis request and is not stored as original document text.
Generated analysis reports are saved to your account.
6. Generated Outputs
DocAware may generate summaries, risk flags, obligations, questionable language, recommended actions, or other outputs.
Generated outputs are informational and may not be complete or accurate.
You are responsible for reviewing and verifying outputs before relying on them.
DocAware saves generated analysis reports so users can view past analyses in their account. Saved reports include structured analysis results, not the original uploaded file.
7. Accounts and Access
You may need an account to use some or all DocAware features.
You agree to provide accurate account information and keep your email account secure.
If you believe your account has been accessed without authorization, contact: support.docaware@overcomerisk.com
We may suspend or terminate access if we believe your account is being used in violation of these Terms, to prevent harm, to comply with law, or to protect DocAware, OvercomeRisk, users, or third parties.
8. Free Access, Credits, Subscriptions, and Billing
DocAware may offer free access, a free first document review, document credits, monthly subscriptions, annual subscriptions, or other paid plans.
DocAware sells through Paddle.com Inc. and Paddle.com Market Ltd. (together, "Paddle"). Paddle acts as our reseller and the Merchant of Record for your purchase. This means your order is placed with Paddle.com, and Paddle is responsible for processing payment, invoicing, sales tax and VAT collection where applicable, handling chargebacks, and processing refunds and returns. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms and Refund Policy.
By purchasing credits, a subscription, or paid access, you agree to the pricing, billing terms, renewal terms, and payment rules presented at checkout.
Subscription plans may renew automatically until cancelled. You are responsible for cancelling before renewal if you do not want to continue a subscription.
DocAware does not store full credit card or payment card details directly. Payment information is handled by Paddle.
For billing questions, contact: billing.docaware@overcomerisk.com
9. Subscription Management and Cancellation
If subscription management is available in your account settings, you may use the Manage Subscription or billing portal option to manage payment methods, view billing information, or cancel a subscription.
If you need help with billing or cancellation, contact: billing.docaware@overcomerisk.com
Cancellation stops future renewal unless otherwise stated at checkout or in the billing portal. Access may continue until the end of the current paid billing period unless otherwise stated or required by law.
10. Refunds
We offer a 14-day refund window from the date of purchase. Within that window, you may request a refund for unused credits or an initial or renewal subscription payment for any reason.
Because Paddle is the Merchant of Record, refunds are processed by Paddle. To request a refund, visit paddle.net and look up your order using the email address you used at checkout, or email billing.docaware@overcomerisk.com and we will help coordinate the refund with Paddle.
Credits that have already been used to run a document analysis are not eligible for a refund because the service has been delivered. Outside the 14-day window, credits and completed subscription periods are generally non-refundable, but refund requests may still be considered on a case-by-case basis, particularly for accidental or duplicate charges. Nothing in this section limits refund rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law. See our Refund Policy for full details.
11. Acceptable Use
You may not use DocAware to:
- Violate any law or regulation
- Upload documents you do not have permission to use

You retain ownership of documents you upload.
16. Feedback
If you provide feedback, suggestions, ideas, or recommendations, you allow OvercomeRisk and DocAware to use that feedback without restriction or compensation.
17. Beta or Early Access
DocAware may be launched as a beta, pilot, early access, or soft launch product.
During beta or early access, features may change, break, be removed, or operate differently than expected.
Beta features may be incomplete, experimental, or less reliable.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, DocAware's total liability for any claim related to the service will not exceed the amount you paid to DocAware in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some limitations may not apply to you.
20. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless DocAware, OvercomeRisk, and their owners, contractors, service providers, and affiliates from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from:
- Your use of DocAware
- Documents you upload
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of law
- Your violation of another person's rights
- Decisions you make based on DocAware outputs
21. Termination
You may stop using DocAware at any time.
We may suspend or terminate your access if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk, failed to pay, misused the service, or if suspension is needed to protect DocAware, OvercomeRisk, users, or third parties.
Upon termination, your right to use DocAware ends.
Certain sections of these Terms will continue after termination, including sections related to no legal advice, AI limitations, payment obligations, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law.
22. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict of law principles.
23. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
If we make material changes, we will update the Last Updated date and may provide additional notice as appropriate.
Your continued use of DocAware after updated Terms are posted means you agree to the updated Terms.
